All eyes will be tuned in on September 4th as one of the NFL’s top defenses will attempt to stop one of the games top quarterbacks. For the Packers their success in 2014 rides on the shoulder of Aaron Rodgers. Last season Rodgers missed most of the season with a broken collarbone before returning in week 17 to lead the Packers to the post season.
This game will also give us a chance to see if the Seahawks will have any Super Bowl hangover as we have seen with the likes of the New York Giants and Baltimore Ravens in recent seasons. The team returns the core of starters on both sides of the ball but will need to fill the void left by Golden Tate and Brandon Browner.
The rest of the NFL gets underway with 13 games on Sunday followed by two on Monday Night football. Here are the games to watch during week 1 of the 2014 NFL season.
New Orleans @ Atlanta Falcons: The Saints will have a difficult task during week 1 against NFC South rivals the Falcons. Last season the Falcons just didn’t have anything go right including the loss of Julio Jones for most of the season. These two high powered offenses could put up over 80 points in week 1.
Cincinnati Bengals @ Baltimore Ravens: The Bengals gave Andy Dalton a big contract this off-season now it will be time for him to play at that level. The test starts fast as the Bengals travel to take on the Ravens. The Ravens will be debut their new offensive system Gary Kubiak implemented this off-season.
Indianapolis Colts @ Denver Broncos: The hype leading up to this game will be about quarterbacks Peyton Manning and Andrew Luck. This should be a good chance to see the new revamped Broncos defense that includes free agent DeMarcus Ware, Aqib Talib and T.J. Ward.
San Diego Chargers @ Arizona Cardinals: The Chargers and Cardinals wrap up week 1 on Monday Night football at 10:20pm ET. Philip Rivers has looked good this preseason after producing one of his best NFL seasons in 2013. This should be a good test for the Cardinals defense to start the 2014 NFL season.
