For the Aggies, Kenny Hill will attempt to fill the big void left at the quarterback position against one of the top teams in the county. Hill a former Texas Gatorade Player of the Year attempted 22 passes as a freshman completing 16 for 183 yards and one touchdown.
Steve Spurrier will have his hands full trying to replace Clowney on the defensive side of the ball. The team will more than likely attempt to use a combination of players over the first few weeks.
The Aggies and Gamecocks get started at 6:00pm on Thursday August 28th. Here are a few of the other great week one college match-ups.
Boise State verse #18 Ole Miss: The Rebels take on the Broncos on Thursday night in the Chic-Fil-A Kickoff game. The Rebels are returning 16 starters with six offensive and ten defensive players.
#5 Ohio State verse Navy: The Buckeyes travel to Baltimore to take on the Midshipmen at M&T Bank Stadium. The test could be difficult for Ohio State as the team looks to replace quarterback Braxton Miller who will miss the entire 2014 season. For the Midshipmen it simply comes down to the play of their own very talented quarterback Keenan Reynolds.
West Virginia verse #2 Alabama: Nick Saban will look to get the Crimson Tide off to a hot start after a disappointing loss in the Sugar Bowl against Oklahoma. This game could be a blowout from the start but should be a game many fans will tune into watch.
#16 Clemson verse #12 Georgia: The Tigers enter the season still ranked in the top 25 but it could be a very long season after losing both Tahj Boyd and Sammy Watkins to the NFL this season.
#1 Florida State verse Oklahoma State: Jameis Winston and the Seminoles look to defend their National title. Winston enters the 2014 season as a early favorite to repeat as the Heisman Trophy Winner.
#14 Wisconsin verse #13 LSU: This matchup should be a great one as the Badgers will look to pound the ball on the ground against a very athletic Tigers defense. For each of these teams this game could go along way in determining if they have a chance to play for the National Title game.
